Inspired by Pynk Beard's "Ice On The Road"
We are at a crossroads.
The choice is ours.
Today, a surge of cruelty, brutality and fear is sweeping across our nation.
We are at a crossroads, and we must reject the instinct to look away. We must choose Humanity, Compassion, and Justice.
Our budgets, our policies, and how we treat our neighbors define who we are. Only light can fix this world, but light requires us to be courageous.
Only then can we begin to claim "greatness."
On Monday, April 13th Congress returned to Washington amid the longest shutdown in U.S. history. This is more than a budget debate — it is a moral crossroads.
We must decide: will we bankroll a system of impunity, or uphold the American values that define our strength?
Billions in unrestricted funding to chase an arbitrary quota of 1 million removals "by any means necessary."
Demand ICE be stripped of its impunity and forced to answer to a code of conduct that reflects our American values and the Rule of Law.
No home entry without a judge's signature.
A total ban on masks; every agent must be identifiable.
Universal body cameras for all domestic operations.
De-escalation over the discharge of firearms in our streets.
Protected "Safe Zones" for schools, hospitals, and churches.
Indifference has a human toll. This snapshot is a warning we can no longer ignore.
ICE currently operates above the law and does not share their records with the public. These statistics have been reported by credible independent journalists.
While Washington chases quotas, we see families. We see neighbors.
This is not justice. This is not humanity. This is not greatness.
